25 March Modern Gothic Sarah Perry and Kate Mosse discuss the distinct appeal of the Gothic genre.
16 April The Spirit of a Place Celebrating 15 years of the RSL Ondaatje Prize, four past winners discuss the challenges and delights of writing to evoke the spirit of a place.
10 May Literature Matters: On Memory and MigrationHomi K. Bhabha explores forms of cultural memory as they emerge in fictions of migration and displacement.
19 June Dalloway Day Our annual celebration of Virginia Woolf and her influential novel Mrs Dalloway. Programme to be announced in April.
27 June Literature Matters: Breaking Ground Val McDermid and Jeanette Winterson to reflect on the ways in which crime fiction has developed over the last half century, how what we read shapes the people we are, and whether we should all be listening more closely to writers.
6 July New Daughters of Africa Bernardine Evaristo chairs a panel of contributors to the new anthology, Ayọ̀bámi Adébáyọ̀, Nadifa Mohamed and Namwali Serpell, joined by Margaret Busby, to celebrate the global sweep, diversity and extraordinary literary achievements of Black women writers.
