We are now open for submissions for the fourth year of the RSL Giles St Aubyn Awards for first-commissioned works of non-fiction.

This year, we are pleased to announce that three awards will be presented: one of £10,000, one of £5,000, and one of £2,500 – to provide financial support for talented new writers to complete their first book of non-fiction for a mainstream audience, especially by buying them time for writing or research. Winners will be announced at a reception in London in October 2020.

This year’s judges are: Damian Le BasRamita Navai and Fiona St Aubyn.

Annual Awards totally £17,500, the RSL Giles St Aubyn Awards for Non-Fiction are for writers engaged in writing their first non-fiction book for a mainstream audience. They must already have a publisher’s contract. The award will then buy them time or resources for writing or research, as well as raising the profile of the book when published.
