Ahead of the launch of our full autumn/winter 2022 season, we are please to announce this special event – Among the Flowers: Jamaica Kincaid in Conversation with Paul Mendez.
Jamaica Kincaid is one of the most highly-acclaimed writers of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. She is also a dedicated gardener. In celebration of their fiftieth birthday, Jamaica’s first UK publisher, Picador, are reissuing five of her books: Annie John, Among Flowers, Lucy, At the Bottom of the River and The Autobiography of My Mother. To mark the occasion, we are heading to Black Cultural Archives for this very special event, the first of our autumn season.
Jamaica Kincaid was born in St. John’s, Antigua. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and is the 2022 recipient of the Hadada Award for lifetime achievement from The Paris Review. Jamaica is one of the RSL’s twelve inaugural International Writers.
