Alison Light

Alison Light was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2021.

Alison Light is a writer and critic.  She is also an Honorary Professor at University College London and at Edinburgh University, and a Senior Research Fellow at Pembroke College Oxford.  Her books include Mrs Woolf and the Servants and Common People: The History of an English Family, shortlisted for the Baillie Gifford Prize. Her memoir A Radical Romance won the 2020 PEN Ackerley award. She writes regularly for the London Review of Books.  A volume of her essays and reviews, Inside History, is forthcoming.
