Catherine Johnson

Catherine Johnson was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2019.
Catherine Johnson has written twenty books for for young readers as well as included in very many anthologies for children and adults including New Daughters of Africa.
Sawbones won best historical fiction for 12+ and The Curious Tale of The Lady Caraboo, was shortlisted for the YA Book Prize. Her most recent book Freedom, is nominated for the Carnegie Medal.
Catherine has also written for film, including Bullet Boy, and television, including Rough Crossings for BBC2. She is currently working on the adaptation of Miranda Kaufmann’s book Black Tudors as well as writing for a video game in development.
