Francis Wyndham

Francis Wyndham was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 1999.

Francis Wyndham was an author, literary editor and journalist. He became an editor at Queen magazine and in 1964 moved to The Sunday Times, where he stayed until 1980. He became Jean Rhys’ literary executor after her death in 1979.

Francis Wyndham was a journalist and fiction writer who won the Whitbread First Novel Award in 1987 for The Other Garden. He was renowned for discovering writers, including V.S. Naipaul, Jean Rhys, Bruce Chatwin, Alan Hollinghurst and Edward St Aubyn.
