Jenn Ashworth

Jenn Ashworth was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2018.

Jenn Ashworth’s first novel, A Kind of Intimacy (2000), won a Betty Trask Award. On the publication of her second, Cold Light (2011), she was featured on the BBC’s The Culture Show as one of the UK’s twelve best new writers. Her third novel, The Friday Gospels, was published in 2013 and her fourth, Fell, in 2016. Jenn has also published short fiction and is currently working on a collection of lyric essays about religion, illness and writing. She lives in Lancashire and teaches creative writing at Lancaster University.
