Justin Marozzi

Justin Marozzi was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2021.
Justin Marozzi has spent most of his professional life working in and writing about the Muslim world, from Iraq and Libya to Afghanistan and Somalia. He is the author of seven books, including Islamic Empires: Fifteen Cities that Define a Civilization and Baghdad: City of Peace, City of Blood, the winner of the RSL’s Ondaatje Prize in 2015. A former Trustee of the Royal Geographical Society, Justin is a Senior Research Fellow in Journalism and the Popular Understanding of History at Buckingham University. He lives in Norfolk with his wife and their Transylvanian rescue dog, Daphne.
