Louise Welsh

Louise Welsh was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2018.
Louise Welsh is a fiction writer and librettist. She has written nine novels, most recently Plague Times Trilogy, a series of books exploring a contemporary pandemic. She has written many short stories and is editor of Ghost: One Hundred Stories to Read with the Lights On. Louise has collaborated on four operas with the composer Stuart MacRae. Her libretto for Ghost Patrol was shortlisted for an Olivier Award and the opera The Devil Inside was inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s short story ‘The Bottle Imp’.
