Nell Leyshon

Nell Leyshon was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2018.
Nell Leyshon is a novelist and playwright. Her third novel, The Colour of Milk (2012), has been translated into many languages. In France it won the Prix de l’Union Interalliée and was nominated for the Prix Femina. In Spain it was the Libro del Ano. Nell’s second play, Comfort Me with Apples, won the Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Playwright. Bedlam was the first play written by a woman to be performed at Shakespeare’s Globe. Nell worked for many years with marginalised communities, teaching and facilitating creative writing and performance.
