Sara Taylor

Sara Taylor was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2018.

Sara Taylor was born in Virginia and home-schooled until university. She received her Masters in Prose Fiction and PhD in Creative and Critical Writing from the University of East Anglia and now lives in Reading. Her novels, The Shore and The Lauras, explore the social construction of identity, sexuality and family; her academic work deals with the effect of extra-legal censorship on the US education system. She also acts as co-director and editor of creative-critical publisher Seam Editions. In 2015 she was shortlisted for the Sunday Times/PFD Young Writer of the Year Award.
