Susie Boyt

Susie Boyt was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2022.
Susie Boyt is the author of seven acclaimed novels as well as the much-loved memoir My Judy Garland Life which was shortlisted for the Pen Ackerley prize, serialised on Radio 4 and staged at the Nottingham Playhouse. She recently edited and introduced The Turn of the Screw and Other Ghost Stories by Henry James for Penguin Classics. This year a hybrid musical-lecture she co-wrote, Marie Marie Hold on Tight! about TS Eliot and Marie Lloyd, was produced at Wilton’s Music Hall as part of the centenary celebrations of The Waste Land. She writes columns and reviews for a wide variety of publications, is a director at the Hampstead Theatre in London and also works for the charity Cruse Bereavement Care. Her latest novel Loved and Missed (2021) was called ‘a gentle masterpiece’ in the Observer Books of the Year.
