The RSL is Britain’s national charity for the advancement of literature. Founded in 1820, we work to honour and encourage great writers, engage the public in literature, and act as a voice for its value. We are a small charity and rely on philanthropic funding to continue this work.

We particularly welcome corporate support. Whether you choose to sponsor an event, support the development of our Schools Outreach Programme, or join as a Corporate Member, we can offer you the opportunity to align your Company with one of the most prestigious and trusted literary brands in the country. In turn, we will offer you a bespoke package of benefits, individually tailored by our Director to meet your business development or corporate social responsibility objectives.

Current opportunities

• Outreach

From supporting a single school visit (£2,500) to sponsoring our annual Outreach Programme (£25,000), this is an excellent opportunity for your Company to have a direct impact on the confidence and aspirations of young people in disadvantaged state secondary schools. We are also looking for corporate partners to help us develop new education initiatives, including an award for English teachers and new writing competition for secondary students.

• High-profile public events

A bespoke opportunity for your Company to sponsor our distinctive events, hosted at distinguished venues including the British Library, and featuring some of the greatest writers in the country. There are openings to sponsor a single event (£3,000), an annual lecture (£15,000 for three years), or entire season (£30,000). Event sponsorship includes the unique potential for event or lecture naming rights, private drinks receptions, and dinner with the speakers.

• RSL Review magazine

Our admired RSL Review magazine includes essays on a range of literary topics, prominent writers in conversation, reports on new initiatives, and a leader article on a current literary issue. Sent twice a year to each of our distinguished Fellows and international membership base, sponsorship of the RSL Review (£20,000 for two issues) offers the opportunity for significant brand alignment, bespoke content and engagement.

• Corporate Membership

Corporate Membership entitles your Company to a suite of complimentary tickets, brand visibility, exclusive invitations to receptions, and staff engagement opportunities (£2,500 per annum).
