On 1 March 2017 we published our report Literature in Britain Today

The report summarised the findings from our ground-breaking opinion poll, carried out by Ipsos MORI. It is, as far as we know, the first time that anyone has attempted to find out how many people read literature, what it means to them, and which writers they see as writers of literature. The full technical data sets can be found on Ipsos MORI’s website.

Our Director Tim Robertson is available to give illustrated talks on the research for conferences, literary festivals, colleges etc: please let us know if you are interested.

We hope that the report will be helpful across the field of literature and beyond.

Hard copies of the report are available. If you would like one please send your postal address to Annette Brook, Communications Manager: [email protected] or call 020 7845 4680.
