Where is my Taxi?

By: Milton Silverman

About The Poem

The sequel to I Am A Taxi.

The Poem

Where is my Taxi, why has it left ?

Leaving us lonely, truly bereft,

The man who visited and wanted to buy it,

Did he remove it, does he now have it?

How did it leave, does it have passengers?

Is it busy working, does it remember us?

Now just a void, and nothing to show,

Nothing left behind, no memento,

Maybe we’ll hail it, all unknowing ,

And as the traffic moves, meter gently ticking,

Some strange warm feeling starts invading,

The day feels better and we don’t know why….

It’s the silent communion with that time gone by

………
