The Queue

About The Poem

This one I was inspired to write while in a queue for the supermarket when panic buying was rife.
I am a published poet and soon to be published writer and the lockdown gave me the perfect opportunity and inspiration for eight poems regarding the Corona crisis.

The Poem

The queue, a singular British addiction
Once countries laughed at this predilection
For standing in lines at a safe distance but
they’ve decided to give up any resistance
Now they are all doing it
Waiting in line
Oh! how we laugh
In these strange times
