This City

By: Sarah Cook

About The Poem

The poem is about the constant changing of the city, cranes will always and forever populate this city.

The Poem

This city is a work in progress;
brick becomes glass,
flame becomes sparks

Incandescence burning…
brighter through centuries engulfing the histories.

Our future builds upon these bones.

Whenever I feel broken,
imprecise in my final form,
I crane up to the tops of buildings

and I

realise that my love is
and will always be

unfinished.
