V.S. PRITCHETT MEMORIAL PRIZE
The RSL is taking bookings from Members and Fellows only. For public tickets visit the British Library website.
Tessa Hadley is, with each publication, becoming one of the UK’s most critically acclaimed writers. She is the author of six novels and three short-story collections, the latest of which, Bad Dreams and Other Stories (‘exquisite and haunting’, The Guardian), was published earlier this year. Tessa talks with literary journalist Alex Clark about the art of writing short stories and about finding the marvellous in the mundane. Alex also talks to the shortlisted writers for the V.S. Pritchett Prize for short stories about their entries, and invites feedback from judges Aamer Hussein, Chibundu Onuzo and Michèle Roberts, before the winner of the 2017 V.S. Pritchett Prize is announced.
We are grateful to Jennie Bland for sponsoring the V.S. Pritchett Memorial Prize, to Prospect for publishing the winning entry and to ALCS for supporting the event.
